Our Special Feeder and All Class Cattle Sale reflected resilient demand for all classes of cattle despite current dry conditions and pressure on the feeder board. Tight cattle supplies continue to support our market highs. Lighter run of feeders for a true test however demand on replacement heifers and bred cows remained optimistic and very active.

The weigh up cattle trend remains steady, selling 333 head weigh-up cows and 50 head weigh-up bulls. Giem Ranch of Twin Bridges, brought in three nice cutting feeding type bulls averaging 1157 lbs. for $287.00. Buhler Land and Cattle, Lima had 9 cows averaging 1,570 lbs. at $188.50.

| Bred Cattle Market |
We had 143 bred cows of which the majority where, fall calving bred cows between the ages of 5-8 years old sell. The top 75 head came from Brian Lott of Rigby, Idaho, bring between $3,800 and $4,200 / head.

152 feeders total steady demand for replacement type feeder heifers. Nice offering of bigger steers this week with several weighing from 800-1200lbs beef ready steers averaging $3100/hd.

DSA Cattle
Cattle consigned from within Brucellosis Designated Surveillance Areas (DSA) must undergo testing before being sold. To ensure efficient processing of your cattle, please ensure that consigned cattle from within DSA boundaries arrive at the sale yard by at least the Wednesday preceding our Thursday sale day. More simply, please bring DSA cattle to the sale yard at least the day prior to the sale.

Check Policy
The following was prepared by LMA General Counsel to be used to notify consignors and buyers of postal service changes and impacts on your payment and billing processes.
NOTICE: The United Postal Service has changed operations. Mail is and will continue to be much slower than in the past and post marls are no longer an accurate indication of when checks are mailed. This impacts all of us.
FOR CONSIGNORS: Please wait two full weeks before reaching out reporting a lost check and requesting reissuance. If you need your check sooner, please request a check for your livestock from the office after they all sell and before you leave on sale day. Or make the office aware of your intention to pick it up before the close of the next business day following the sale.
Please also be aware that we are mailing your checks in accordance with Packers and Stockyards Act, prompt payment, which is by the close of the next business day following the sale. However, postmarks are no longer consistently being applied at the post office on the day of mailing, so it is possible that the post mark on your check may not match the date that we mailed it.
FOR BUYERS: Please either WIRE or ACH your payment or leave a check for your purchases on sale day before you load it out. If you need our ACH or Wiring instructions, please request them at the office. We will never email or text you a change in these instructions. Please call management if you receive a request to change this process as it is likely fraudulent.
SELLER CHECK OPTIONS:
Same Day Pickup – If you would like to stop by our office and pick up the checks the day of the sale, you are more than welcome to once all your cattle have sold.
OR
Hold For Pickup – Contact our office if you would like us to hold the check. We’re happy to hold your check until you can pick it up at your earliest convenience.
