SALE RESULTS THURSDAY 1/8/26: Special Feeder & All Class Cattle Sale
Total Sold: 2,020
This Thursday our sale ring took no break after the Holiday season. With over 620 steers and 670 heifers consigned, Dillon Livestock Auction provided top quality feeders that remain in high demand. The weigh up cattle didn’t disappoint, with over 550 head of cows hitting the scales. Nearly 170 heiferettes, averaging between $246/cwt and $272.5/cwt, struck the market, adding to this sales’ successful outcome. Thank you consignors, buyers, and community for helping us begin 2026 with a bang!
Heifer Calves: $285/cwt-$545/cwt
Andy Niederer of Rexburg, ID consigned 27 heifers weighing 640 lbs, that brought $382/cwt. Pauley Livestock of Dillon, MT sold 17 heifers for $410/cwt, weighing 496 lbs.
Steer Calves: $302/cwt-$700/cwt
Rebish-Konen Livestock out of Dillon, MT sold 22 head that averaged 380lbs and sold for $635/cwt. Bar C Inc. out of DIllon, MT sold 11 head averaging 717lbs and sold for $381/cwt.
Jeff Belnap from Pingree, ID sold 50 head for $394/cwt, averaging 701 lbs. He brought another draft of 67 steers that weighed 557 lbs, bringing $495/cwt!
Bred Cows: $1,150-$2,850
Dick Hirschy Cattle Inc. from Wisdom, MT sold 19 bred cows that averaged 1205lbs for $2,825 per head.
Weigh Up Cows: $98/cwt-$510/cwt
Jay & Shadeen Novich out of Twin Bridges, MT sold 10 head averaging 1,494 lbs and brought $162/cwt. Hoggan Rodeo of Terreton, ID sold 14 head averaging 1111lbs for $212.5/cwt.
Weigh Up Bulls: $120/cwt-$265/cwt
Hollow Top Angus out of Pony, MT sold 5 bulls weighing 1348 for $196/cwt. Jack Hirschy Livestock out of Jackson, MT sold 3 bulls averaging 1,955lbs that went for $186/cwt.

DSA Cattle
Cattle consigned from within Brucellosis Designated Surveillance Areas (DSA) must undergo testing before being sold. To ensure efficient processing of your cattle, please ensure that consigned cattle from within DSA boundaries arrive at the sale yard by at least the Wednesday preceding our Thursday sale day. More simply, please bring DSA cattle to the sale yard at least the day prior to the sale.
