SALE RESULTS THURSDAY 2/26/26: All Class Cattle Sale

Total Sold: 569 head

Thursday’s sale leaned on the weigh ups, with solid cow groups and a good offering of cutting bulls leading the way. The market held a dependable, steady feel.

The bred cows added momentum to the day, with a high of $3,950 and multiple sales in the $3,500–$3,800 range. Most good running-aged cows sold from $2,800 to $3,500. Consistent demand was seen across the board, with buyer interest in larger strings from reputable programs.

Good demand on lighter feeder calves today, with 4–5 weights averaging $429 and topping at $480.

Bred Cows: $2,900-$3,950/hd

Bred cows topped at $3,950 on a cow from Garth Brinkerhoff, with additional strong sales at $3,800 from Elk Meadows Ranch and Wright Livestock. 

Weigh Up Cows: $170-$287/cwt

Weigh Ups averaged around $180/cwt. Quality multi-head drafts from White Sands, Kenny Dalling, Malesich, and Huntley & Sons mostly sold from $175–$182, adding momentum to the day.

Weigh Up Bulls: $199-$208/cwt

Today’s bulls averaged at $203/cwt, with the bulk trading $199–$206. Brett Jensen’s bulls, averaging 2,083 lbs, topped the class, bringing a high of $208/cwt.

Heifer Calves: $340/cwt-$480/cwt

Heifer calves sold in a steady range today, averaging $385/cwt. Michael and Julie Brubaker, from Kalispell MT sold a draft averaging 498 lbs for $405/cwt.

Heiferettes: $240/cwt-$387.5/cwt

Walt Morris, from Twin Bridges, MT consigned 8 black ettes, weighing 667 lbs for $387.5/cwt, topping the class, while the averaged traded closer to $260/cwt.

DSA Cattle

Cattle consigned from within Brucellosis Designated Surveillance Areas (DSA) must undergo testing before being sold. To ensure efficient processing of your cattle, please ensure that consigned cattle from within DSA boundaries arrive at the sale yard by at least the Wednesday preceding our Thursday sale day. More simply, please bring DSA cattle to the sale yard at least the day prior to the sale.
